History
Dr Simon Manara is a second generation orthodontist. His father Dr George Manara, was the first trained Specialist Orthodontist on the island of Malta, where he ran a successful private practice for many years. Although he is not directly involved in seeing patients at London Orthodontics, he has regular case discussions with Simon sharing his valuable experience.
Specialist Orthodontic Training
Simon graduated from Guy’s Hospital and received his specialist orthodontic training at Birmingham University. He was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship in 2000 which allowed him to travel to the USA and Sweden to learn more of the research being undertaken into stationary anchorage.
Shortly after completing his specialist training, he joined the orthodontic practice at 53 Portland Place in 2002 where he worked for four years with Drs John Bennett and Stephen Hopson (now branded as e-Line Orthodontics). He also spent some time as an Orthodontic Hospital practitioner at Kingston Hospital.
London Orthodontics
In 2006 Simon started his own exclusively private orthodontic practice, and took rooms at 121 Harley Street. The ethos is very much centred on a personal relaxed treatment approach, liaising with your general dentist and involving you throughout. In 2017 we moved to larger premises at 40 Harley Street which is three blocks further south on Harley Street, right opposite Queen’s College School.
