Functional appliances

Functional appliances are used to maximize the growth of the jaws and improve the way the upper and lower teeth meet.

There are several variations but are principally designed to hold the lower jaw forwards.  They may be fixed or removable, and are usually worn as near to full-time as possible.  When this treatment is appropriate Dr Manara will include this in your treatment options.
